One of four, published by Arthur Ackermann, 191 Regent Street, on 1st March 1889. The companion print title ‘From Scent to View’ is significant. Unlike greyhounds and staghounds, which hunt by sight, foxhounds hunt by scent. This scene depicts the moment when the huntsmen, until then entirely dependent on the hounds, catch their first glimpse of the quarry.
