This scene is totally explained by the title. Moving from winter hibernation, the depiction of accoutrements hanging on the wall, perhaps by the back door or, perhaps, in a garage, in a specially designated room, show items waiting to be selected for the appropriate occasion.
Is the owner and user a gentleman or a lady?
Is the bag for putting in the fish, and how is the net used? What does the flask normally contain and why is a summer hat put with an umbrella?
The scene leaves everything to the viewer’s imagination and hence this appeal of a gentle but very evocative picture
