One of four, published by Rudolph and Arthur Ackermann, 191 Regent Street, on 1st March 1864. Hunting terminology is not always self-evident. ‘Full Cry’ obviously means hot pursuit; but ‘Drawing Cover’ refers to the hounds’ casting about in undergrowth for the fox’s scent; ‘Gone Away’ indicates that the fox is on the run; and ‘Dead Beat’ means that the hounds have failed to pick up a scent on a particular tract of country.
