This hugely evocative painting depicts the 10th Duke of Beaufort, MFH, hunting with his beloved Beaufort Hounds. As the hounds chase into the field ahead, the Duke doubles his horn in a gateway. He is shown here astride Oxo: this horse was one of his favourite hunters, and was often portrayed in early sporting pictures of the Duke
