John was born in Leicestershire in 1943. A lifelong motorcycle, steam and sports fanatic, he has been drawing and painting for fun and professionally for over 40 years. Married Gillian in 1969 and has 2 sons.
John has driven his friend, Graham Burbery’s Aveling and Porter steam roller, towing three trailers, hundreds of miles on the roads of England and is a regular exhibitor at the Great Dorset Steam Fair.
He makes his annual pilgrimage to the Isle of Man for the TT races and competes in motorcycle sprints & hill climbs on his vintage, 1946, Model 18, 500cc Norton.
He is a keen tennis player and plays badminton every week from September to April, belonging to the same club for over 36 years! John is also an enthusiastic cyclist, regularly competing in road races, time trials and occasionally riding the cycle ‘leg’ of team triathlons!
Rugby football has been a lifelong passion and John is a season ticket holder for Leicester Tigers Rugby Football Club.
John has worked as a freelance technical illustrator for a variety of companies including Prodrive in Banbury where he was the illustrator for the Subaru World Rally Team.
