Owned by Sir G Heathcote, trained by Ralph Sherwood and ridden by J Chapple, Amato won the 1838 Epsom Derby, it’s only outing and therefore joins the list of undefeated thoroghbred racehorses!
A pub in Epsom was named after the horse!
