Stanley Michael Bailey Hailwood, known as Mike the Bike, was a British motorcycle road racer and Formula One driver famed for his unparalleled versatility on two and four wheels. He won nine Grand Prix motorcycle world championships, 76 races, and 14 Isle of Man TT titles, including the legendary 1967 Senior TT duel with Giacomo Agostini. In 1978, after 11 years away, he staged a sensational comeback to win the Isle of Man TT again.
