Siegfried Schauzu is one of the most successful sidecar drivers in the history of the Isle of Man TT, which has been held since 1907. Between 1967 and 1975, he won a total of nine road races in a BMW with co-drivers Horst Schneider and Wolfgang Kalauch respectively. This makes him the most successful German participant at the Isle of Man TT. Schauzu became known as the “Sideways Sid” because of his unique cornering style. In addition to his victories on the Isle of Man, he won the German Sidecar Championship six times
