“A Study of Desert Orchid” Ref: CC012

Desert Orchid’s flamboyant front running style, coupled with his outstanding jumping ability and boundless courage made him a household name.

Trained by David Elsworth, he won 7 hurdle races, but it wasn’t until he was sent chasing that he realised his full potential. He won over 20 races over fences, including 3 King George V Cups and the Cheltenham Gold Cup. He won the GoldCup at Cheltenham despite terrible conditions, and that race must be one of racing’s greatest moments. A true racing hero. Crowds still flock to see him in his retirement
