Beginning his three-year-old season with a handicap win, Paddington soon established himself as a superb miler with victories in the Irish 2000 Guineas and the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot. He then stepped up to ten furlongs to take an exciting renewal of the Eclipse Stakes before reasserting his dominance over the mile in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. Trained by Aidan O’Brien at Ballydoyle, he has been ridden to his four Group 1 triumphs by Ryan Moore.
