The debut victory for the new Ford Cosworth engine was in the Lotus 49 of Jim Clark at the Dutch Grand Prix of 1967. Clark set fastest lap, on way to what was to become the first of many wins for the Cosworth engine
Introduced in 1957 the Lotus 49 Ford completely rewrote the parameter of F1 and engine design. Its first race was the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort where Jim Clark gave it its debut victory.
