Alan is probably best known to the public through reproductions of his original oil paintings, but his painting career has also earned him a reputation which has led to commissions from corporate bodies such as Rolls Royce, Eddie Stobart, Porsche,Mercedes-Benz and McLaren International.

He was born in Yorkshire and studied at Batley College of Art. Initially his paintings included railway architecture but then moved away towards transport oriented subjects especially motor racing – motor sport being one of his loves.
