The 1990 World Championship came to a staggeringly abrupt and controversial conclusion at the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka. Ayrton Senna’s McLaren MP4/5B and Alain Prost’s Ferrari 641 collided while contesting the very first corner, with both cars being eliminated on the spot, and the World Championship going to Ayrton Senna
