Jim Clark and Team Lotus scored a famous victory in the Indianapolis 500 on 31st May 1965.
The British team came and dominated the race at the fabled ‘brickyard’, Jimmy driving the
Lotus-Ford type 38. He set numerous records during the race with a winning speed of 150.686mph, recording the first win for a rear-engined car in the Indy 500 and the first victory for a Ford engine.
The painting shows Jimmy’s winning Lotus (chassis 38/1) leading AJ Foyt in the early laps, through turn two.
The title caption as described above, with Classic Team Lotus and Henry Ford Museum logos are printed on the white border.
