Stirling Moss vaults into the cockpit of the Aston Martin DBR1 as he takes over from Jack Brabham at the Nurburgring in 1958. He is watched here by Team Manager Reg Parnell (with megaphone) and Aston Martin General Manager John Wyer (with clipboard). Driving 36 of the 44 laps of the magnificent 14 mile circuit, Moss later said that “I’d driven terribly hard for much too long and it took me a week to get over it” He repeated his success the following year with another virtuoso drive in the DBR1
